1. The Blue Whale is the largest creature ever to have lived on earth.They can reach 100 feet in length and 150 tons in weight. Their weight equals the weight of 30 adult elephants.

2Blue whales evolved from hippopotamuses.

3A baby blue whale is called calf. When the baby is born it is as large as an elephant and grows very quickly. It will gain around 200 pounds a day and be about 50 feet long at the age of 6 months. 

4The diet of whales depends on their species; it can range from microscopic plankton to large marine mammals.

5. Female breed once every 3 year.

6Blue whales sleep while swimming.

7Blue whales are the loudest animals on the planet.

9They have a lifespan of around 80 to 90 years.

13Besides humans, the only predators of blue whales are orcas and great white sharks.

14. Blue whales can swim up to 30 miles per hour.

15Blue whale breathes using the lungs. It has huge nostril on the top of its head (baby can crawl through it) through which it exhales. Exhaled air, which looks like a fountain, can reach the height of 30 feet (like a three-story building).
