Box Jellyfish







Scientific name: Cubozoa

Box jellyfish are known as the "suckerpunch" of the sea 

Box Jellyfish are pale blue and transparent and bell or cubed shaped with four distinct sides.

 Box jellyfish developed  powerful venom  kill prey, like fish and shrimp and struggle to escape.

A fully grown box jellyfish can measure up to 20 cm (7.9 in) along each box side (or 30 cm (12 in) in diameter) and weight can reach 2 kg (4.4 lb). There are about 15 tentacles on each corner.




Each tentacle has about 5,000 stinging cells.

There venom is considered to be among the most deadly in the world, containing toxins that attack the heart, nervous system, and skin cells.The victims have been known to go into shock and drown or die due to heart failure .
